Hiromi, our daughter Ahn, and Sam at Point Reyes National Seashore in California, where the North American and Pacific tectonic plates meet in a joining, subsiding and crashing of worlds.
This is a shared website with some information about us, our interests and a bit of how we ended up together in this part of the planet. For the past five years we’ve been collaborating on various ideas and projects related to simplicity, permaculture, decolonization, farm to table vegan organic cooking, art and ecology.
HIROMI UI is the chef, farmer and fermentation priestess with her roots in the rich intersection of Japanese and Korean cultures.
SAM BOWER is the articulture theorist, maker and spaceholder for something that feels ripe for our times, Northern European roots transplanted to the US and nurtured growing up in South America as a kid.
AHN BOWER UI is herself, at age 5 now, our muse, guide and inspiration.
The name for this website comes from joining our last names and happens to be Ahn’s official last name.
